I came into this course with no healthcare background, but I wanted to qualify for a TEER 3 job in the healthcare sector. That's when I found Ascentia Career Institute and enrolled in their Chairside Dental Assistant / Dental Assistant Level I / Licensed Dental Assistant (Limited) program. The program is about six months long, and the biggest challenge for me was staying consistent with my studies while balancing night shifts. If you make your education a priority and communicate with the instructors, they are very understanding. There were times when I felt completely overwhelmed and even considered dropping out, but the staff took the time to counsel me, encourage me, and help me get back on track. Their support made a huge difference. One thing I really appreciated was that there were no inflated tuition fees for international students. Within five months, I had gained valuable knowledge, earned multiple certificates, completed my coursework, and was prepared for my practicum. One of the best parts is that Ascentia arranges practicums in your own city whenever possible, making the transition into the workforce much easier. I'm about to begin my practicum next week, and I already feel much more confident about my future. They also provide support with resumes, job searching, and career guidance after the course, which adds tremendous value. Overall, I highly recommend Ascentia Career Institute to anyone looking to start a career in dental assisting or enter the healthcare field. I had such a great experience taking the Chairside Dental Assisting course at Ascentia Career Institute. The instructors are incredibly supportive and genuinely care about their student’s success. My instructor, Darcy, went above and beyond throughout my entire journey. Even after graduation, she continues to check in on me and is helping me with my job search, which means so much. For my practicum, I was placed at Dr. Black’s office on Hardy Place, and it was an amazing experience. The whole team was welcoming, supportive, and always willing to share advice, not just for the practicum, but for starting my career afterward as well. They truly go above and beyond for their patients, and it was inspiring to be part of that environment. I always felt comfortable, encouraged, and valued while I was there. I’m really grateful for everything I learned and the support I received. I highly recommend this program to anyone considering a career in dental assisting!

I am so grateful for the wonderful support from everyone who works at the college, Alda Darcy and Mike are an amazing team and thanks to Mary too for doing amazing behind the scenes work to make sure we have quality resumes and good interview skills in preparation for the job market. This college is the number one school I´ve ever been to when it comes to support, compassion, empathy and flexibility. I struggled with some ongoing health issues and they were there for me every step of the way and made sure I would succeed. I don´t think I´ve ever felt more supported by an instructor (Darcy). Her knowledge of the industry is incredible and her teaching style is very hands on and easy to understand. I´m so thrilled with everything I´ve experienced here and I would highly recommend not only for the people but the sophisticated equipment and up to date practices. Words cannot even begin to express how thankful I really am for the effort put in by my instructor and all the staff at Ascentia to make sure I am successful.
